  • Homecare - 8am to 5pm plus 24 hour answering service. Walk-in Clinic Mon-Wed-Fri 8am-1pm in Kennebunk.

  • Description of Service:

  • SMMCVN provides skilled home visits (RN, PT, OT, ST, MSW, RD) and home health aide services covered by Medicare, MaineCare & other insurances when ordered by a physician. SMMCVN also has a Walk-in Nurse Clinic in Kennebunk for screenings/immunizations and does many community clinics including Flu Clinics throughout York County. We also have a free Loan Closet of medical equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, commodes) at Kennebunk and Biddeford offices. SMMCVN also has an extensive ambulatory Diabetes Education Program & Diabetes Support Group. Classes & nutrition counseling is covered by insurances with physician referral. SMMCVN also manages the Breast & Cervical Health Program for York County which provides free mammograms & paps for eligible women.

  • Pre-Procedure/Test - Patient Preps:

  • Homecare paid by insurance must have physician order. Walk-in Clinic and screenings/immunizations do not require physician referral.

  • Accreditations/Unique Aspects:

  • Homecare services covered by Medicare and all insurances requires medical necessity of skilled clinician (RN or therapist) ordered by physician. Patient must be "homebound"- unable to leave home without help of person or device (cane etc.) and leaves only infrequently for therapeutic reasons.

  • Additional Information:

  • Medicare & insurances will not cover home care services denoted as "chronic" or "maintenance". This care (usually for personal help) is an out-of-pocket expense by the patient.
