| Sleep Studies Technician performs sleep diagnostics for analysis by physicians for
sleep disorders. The Polysomnographic Technologist that is the Sleep Studies
Technician function independently to safely operate the equipment and record
sleep/wake physiology. The non-invasive monitoring equipment monitors brain,
breathing and blood oxygen physiology. Most sleep studies are done overnight with
the patient population rating from pediatric to geriatric.

| Qualifications: Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with a valid Maine State
License preferred. Previous experience in sleep studies preferred. Registered
polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) credential preferred. Completion of college
level basic principles of polysomnography course preferred.
Certification in Sleep within one year of employment. BLS certification required and
ACLS certification within one year of employment preferred. Demonstration of
effective written and spoken communication skills. Computer literate.
Graduate of Ama-approved school of Respiratory Care, electroencephalogram
diagnostics or polysomnography preferred. Must prove evidence of ability to conduct
a wide range of sleep studies with direct supervision. Two years of sleep study
experience preferred. |
